Types of hazardous chemical products we transport

Hazardous chemical products are classified according to their characteristics and the risks they present. At a3 Logistic we have experience transporting all categories:

  • Flammable substances: liquids, gases or solids that can ignite easily (petrol, ethanol, acetone, solvents)
  • Explosive substances: materials or devices that can produce violent reactions releasing gas and energy
  • Toxic substances and poisons: products that can cause serious harm even in small quantities (cyanide, arsenic, pesticides)
  • Corrosive substances: materials that cause damage on contact, corrode steel and aluminium, and emit irritating vapours
  • Radioactive substances: products that emit radiation, used in medicine and nuclear energy
  • Regulated materials: substances that may be anaesthetic, harmful or cause irritation
  • Environmentally hazardous substances: pesticides, detergents and industrial solvents

What is ADR in the transport of dangerous goods?

ADR is a European agreement signed in 1957 that regulates the road transport of dangerous goods. It covers 49 countries and has two main objectives: to facilitate the transport of hazardous chemical products between countries, and to ensure that this transport takes place under strict safety conditions. ADR specifies which dangerous substances can be transported by road, the packaging requirements, labelling regulations, loading and unloading procedures, required documentation, and the specific training operators must receive.

Our transport process

The transport of hazardous chemical products is not just a logistics matter; it is a matter of safety and regulatory compliance:

  • Risk assessment and planning: detailed analysis of the type of substance, transport conditions and associated risks
  • Packaging and labelling: certified packaging that complies with international regulations, with all required warning symbols
  • Specialist transport: selection of the appropriate vehicle according to the nature of the substance (tanker, temperature-controlled, bulk)
  • Real-time monitoring: continuous shipment tracking with advanced tracking technology
  • Safe delivery and documentation: complete process with all required documentation

Frequently asked questions

What requirements must hazardous chemical product shipments meet?
They must comply with national and international regulations such as ADR (European road transport), IMDG (maritime) and IATA (air). These requirements include correct labelling, certified packaging and safety conditions during transport.
What types of vehicles do you use for hazardous chemical products transport?
We use specialist vehicles according to the nature of the goods: tank trucks for liquids and gases, hermetic containers, or vehicles with temperature control systems, depending on the product characteristics.
How are hazardous chemical products labelled for transport?
They must carry the corresponding UN number along with warning labels indicating the type of risk (flammable, toxic, corrosive, etc.). These labels must comply with international regulations and be clearly visible on all packages.
Do you manage the necessary special permits?
Yes, our team manages the entire permit and documentation process. We take care of compliance with customs and health regulations to ensure trouble-free delivery.
